For more than 2,000 years, the Catholic Church has faithfully preserved the teachings of Jesus Christ, offering a rich tradition of faith, hope, and love that continues to guide millions of people today.
At the heart of the Catholic faith is the belief that God created every person out of love and that all of creation is good. Although we are capable of sin, every human person possesses inherent dignity because each of us is made in the image and likeness of God.
Catholics believe that God's goodness is reflected throughout creation. The beauty of the world points us toward its Creator and reminds us of His presence and love. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, creation has been renewed, revealing God's desire to be close to His people.
As Catholics, we practice stewardship by recognizing that everything we have is a gift from God. We are called to share our time, talents, and treasures generously in service to God and one another.
We believe in the Holy Trinity—one God in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Created in God's image, we are called to live in loving relationship with Him and with one another.
The Church is a living community of believers, known as the Body of Christ. Together we worship, pray, grow in faith, and support one another as we strive to follow Jesus.
We believe that God loved the world so deeply that He became human in the person of Jesus Christ. Through His crucifixion, death, and resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death and opened the way to eternal life for all who believe in Him.
Catholics also honor the communion of saints—holy men and women whose lives of faith continue to inspire us and whose prayers strengthen us on our journey to Christ.
Becoming Catholic means embracing a faith that is both ancient and alive—a faith rooted in Scripture, enriched by sacred tradition, and sustained by the sacraments. It is a lifelong journey of growing closer to Jesus Christ and sharing His love with the world.

Returning Catholics
The Catholic Church is the largest Christian denomination in the United States, accounting for about 25 percent of the country’s population.
The Church continues to grow and many people have chosen to convert to Catholicism. The Church is a vibrant, active community of believers which continues to have a positive influence on the lives of many people. However, there are people who for one reason or another have stopped actively participating in the Church and attending Mass. We live in a busy culture and society. There are many demands that are placed on us. Yet people are searching for a deeper sense of meaning, for a closer relationship with God, and for a more authentic spiritual identity.
Since the Church is a family, we miss those Catholics who may have left the Church or who have stopped participating in its vibrant liturgy and sacramental life. Perhaps you or someone you know are in this situation and do not know how to come back or how to become active again. The first thing you need to know is that you are always welcome back. The Church misses you and hopes that you will choose to come home as an active member.
Catholics Come Home is a non-profit, independent charity whose purpose is to invite inactive Catholics, and others searching for a faith home, to the Catholic faith. Their informative and interactive website helps to answer questions about Church teachings and gives an overview of the Catholic faith. Some of its founders and supporters recently returned to the Catholic faith and want to share their positive experiences with others. Many never left the Church, but recently grew to understand and appreciate their Catholic faith more deeply. All feel part of a big Catholic family, who sincerely hope others will also find more peace, real answers, and true happiness through the gift of faith.

As an adult, how do I become Catholic
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, or OCIA, is a communal process for formal initiation of new members into the Catholic Church. This process is a return to the formation of the earliest members of the Church in the first and second centuries.
